The strong desire to care for and help animals has been within me since I was very little. I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. After highschool, I attended the University of Guelph and completed my honours degree in Biological Science. However, my lifelong dream came true when I graduated from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2002. After working at various small animal clinics around Toronto and Mississauga, my family decided to move back to Durham Region where I began locuming. The Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic was one of the clinics I locumed for, and I knew this clinic was special from my very first shift. The passion this team has for their patients, coupled with their dedication to excellent patient care and high quality medicine, is unparalleled.  I was thrilled when I was asked to stay on as a permanent team member. I have had so many career highlights since joining this team, and I look forward each day to helping pets of all sizes, live their best lives possible. It has also been so rewarding being involved in their wildlife triage program, which is one aspect of this clinic that sets them apart, and makes me so proud to be a part of this team. There is never a dull moment with all the types of animals that come through the door!  My own personal interests include feline medicine, preventative medicine, and caring for senior pets.In my down time, I enjoy reading and love to paint. You can often find me on the bleachers  of a baseball diamond or basketball court, cheering on my three boys, along with my husband.  At home we share our lives with our two Labrador retrievers, Samson and Alfie, our two red ear slider turtles, Gary and Seymour, our 4 fancy rats, Meg, MJ, Bluey and Benny, and our cat, Keyser Soze.
