What are the clinic hours?

Our clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm. On Saturdays we are open from 8:00am until 1:00pm. The clinic is closed on Sunday.

Do I need to have an appointment?

Yes, patients are seen by appointment, unless it is an emergency.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Cash

Can I make payments?

We do offer Scratchpay, which is a company that provides loans to clients for veterinary services, provided appropriate credit standing information is provided.

At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered?

For most dogs and cats, we recommend neutering and spaying at 6 months of age.  However, for male large breed dogs there is some science that supports not neutering until approximately 12-18 months of age – or when they are finished growing.  So, for this specific group of dogs, we are now recommending this.  Should the puppy start to show problematic behavior such as territorial aggression or urinating in the house when they hit sexual maturity (7-10 months) then neutering can be performed earlier.

What is the pre-anesthetic blood screening?

A preanesthetic blood test is like an internal physical exam that will check organ function and identify concerns. Preanesthetic blood testing lets us create an individualized anesthetic plan for your pet and avoid potential complications during the procedure. If test results are within normal ranges, we will proceed with confidence, and we also then have baseline levels for your pet's medical history. If results are not within normal ranges, we can alter the anesthetic protocol or take other precautions to safeguard your pet's health and reduce the risk of possible complications.

How long do the sutures stay in after my pet's surgery?

Procedures involving sutures require them to be removed 10-14 days following the surgery.

Is it a good idea to let my pet have at least one litter?

No, there is no advantage to letting your pet have one litter. However there are plenty of advantages to having your pet spayed or neutered. These advantages include decreasing the chances of breast tumors later in life, decreasing the chance of cystic ovaries and uterine infections later in life, decreasing the desire to roam the neighborhood, decreasing the incidence of prostate problems later in life, helping prevent spraying and marking, and also decreasing the surplus of unwanted puppies and kittens.

Do you board pets?

Yes, we will board pets for our clients. We have boarding space for both cats and dogs. We can also board birds and other small animals, but often you will be required to bring their own cage and food.

What are your kennels like?

Our dog kennels are all indoor. The dogs are walked 4 times daily outside on our grassy large lawn, while they are boarding. The cat boarders are housed in a separate area away from the dogs. Blankets and food are provided for our boarders, but you are always welcome to bring your own. Boarders are brought out daily for hugs and play.
