Veterinarian
Dr. Rebecca McDonald
I am a 2022 graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College. I was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, but lived in Guelph for 10 years before moving to join the Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic. During my time in Guelph, I completed an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science and a Master’s of Science at the University of Guelph. My Master’s studied stem cells and wound healing in leopard geckos, and was the start of my love of reptiles.
I am incredibly excited to join Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic, and a team so passionate about their patients; furry, scaly and feathered! In addition to my special interest in exotic medicine, my passions include providing care for patients in their senior years.
I currently share my home with Finnigan the Quaker Parrot and GFP1 the leopard gecko, and consider it only a matter of time until a rescue dog joins my family. I am an avid reader and houseplant collector, and enjoy tennis and travelling when I have the time.
