Hello, I’m Dr. Kate Phinnemore! I’ve spent over a decade working in clinics in a variety of roles in the Quinte West region before graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2024 where I streamed mixed animal medicine. I spent my first year of practice working in my hometown of Brighton before spreading my wings and joining the team at Bowmanville Veterinary Clinic.

I love the challenges that veterinary medicine presents and the ability it gives me to connect with people. My professional interests include feline medicine and fear free techniques, both of which have been inspired by my cat, Edgar. I am a member of the Feline Veterinary Medicine Association and earned my Cat Friendly Veterinarian Certificate.

Outside of my profession, you’ll find me strolling around local bookstores hunting for antique books about veterinary medicine from the 18th and 19th century. My oldest book is ‘Farriery Improved’ which was published in 1773!
